Chinedu Andrew “Jacked” Obiekea, known as the “Mona Lisa” of bodybuilding, is leaving no stone unturned in his quest for the 2026 Mr. Olympia title. With the competition less than a month away, the Nigerian bodybuilder recently shared his heavy lower body routine on Instagram, emphasizing a “brick by brick” approach to building championship-worthy legs.
Andrew Jacked’s 2026 Olympia Lower Body Workout Routine
Jacked’s leg day consists of five machine-based exercises designed to target the quads, glutes, and hamstrings with precision:
- Leverage Squats
- Belted Squats
- Leg Press
- Leg Extensions
- Hip Thrusts
Sets, Reps, and Form Cues
AJ began with the leverage squat machine, which allows a deeper squat due to the platform angle, hammering the quads, glutes, and hamstrings. Next, he performed belted squats, a variation that takes the load off the spine by securing a belt just above the hips. Studies show this exercise is still highly effective for targeting the lower body without the need to balance a barbell on your shoulders.
For his third move, Jacked leaned back on the leg press with his feet placed lower on the platform to emphasize the quads, thanks to greater knee flexion. He then crushed his quads further with leg extensions, focusing on the contraction at the top for increased stretch and time under tension. Finally, he finished with plate-loaded hip thrusts, a machine specifically designed for glute isolation. Notice how AJ avoids overarch and keeps his back in a neutral position, driving the weight with his hips.
How to Replicate This Workout
To try this routine yourself, choose a weight that allows you to perform 8 to 12 reps for 2 to 3 sets on each exercise. Prioritize proper form, a deep stretch, and time under tension over lifting heavy. As Andrew Jacked often says, building a championship physique is a “brick by brick” process.
The 2026 Olympia Fitness & Performance Weekend takes place from September 24 to 27 in Las Vegas.
